Five (5) credits in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry or Biology and any two other subjects.
Holders of Certificate in Medical Darkroom Practice of the Institute of Radiographers of Nigeria (Darkroom Assistant Certificate) plus the requirement stated above shall be admitted for two years duration to complete the Medical Darkroom Technician Program.
The training is an advanced course for Medical Darkroom Personnel. Empowering them to carry out medical image processing and digital
processing techniques. Film processing/handling/storage and care. Basic maintenance of auto processor and accessories like cassettes, screen
mounting, appreciation and elimination of artefacts, management of waste products of processing solution and film, etc.
Upon successful completion of the programme, graduates of the programme will be expected to work in Radiography department in University
Teaching Hospitals, Federal Medical Centres, General Hospitals, and also work in private hospitals and Radio diagnostic Centres.
Graduates of Medical Image Processing (Darkroom Technicians Program) will proceed to the University on direct entry to study Radiography.
